Last night I went to james house (my boyfriend), we didn’t have any dinner ideas so his mum was stood inside the freezer door giving us ideas. James was stood next to her directly speaking to her and I was behind the door. I can’t really remember why but me and james were messing around laughing at each other and that’s when he told his mum I didn’t want quorn chicken. (Lol) she quickly closed the door and then huffed away. I realised quite quickly we had offended her in some way but didn’t think much of it. She came upstairs to help james find a tennis ball as he had asked but as she walked up the stairs I was next to her looking the the mirror rubbing dry skin off my melips, I thought I looked a bit strange doing it so I just poked fun at myself saying “sorry I must look so strange” and she looked at which such a moody tone and said “I don’t care what you do” and walked away. I was like like oh. Anyway james has clearly picked up something had happened so he asked him mom (this part he told me himself) what was wrong and she basically said she thinks I laugh at her, which james quickly said was not true and was no reason why we were laughing. James told me this and immediately I just wanted to go home and became upset, I try really hard to also make james mum feel included, from getting her cold and flu tablets to buying her plants and flowers with james. I sat upstairs while james made dinner to make it less awkward as possible to which Lesley went back up to james and was just saying how she felt not included and upset or whatever else and ended up going out for a walk. So it then became all strange. I ended up staying as james said it would be worse to leave.

I’m not sure what I do at this point but going forwards do I just not come back here for a bit and then when I do just get on with it?

This isn’t the first time his mum has made random off hand comments to me, she regularly tells me I need to smile more or if she’s talking to james and maybe I’m not listening she will literally call me out and say something like “you don’t give a shit do you”. It’s all a bit weird really.EDIT UPDATE****
