Changing baby names after already announcing name?!

So we are due for our twin girls arrival in June .. we had originally had their names as Rebecca and Gabriella ... but the more and more I say the names the more and more I dislike them . We already had our baby shower and ppl bought stuff or made stuff with those names ... I feel like an ass but we have our hearts on two other names ... which I should have stuck with from the beginning 😭 I don’t know if I should make an announcement now or wait until our daughters are born to make the announcement? I knew from the beginning Rebecca and Gabriella were not going to stick with us .

Change them now if you’re not happy rather than settle simply because you announced them.  I changed my baby girl name around 35 weeks because I didn’t like the initials (pms).  It’s not a big deal.

My friend was planning to name her girl Paisleigh. Her mom very vocally hated that name. Well eventually it convinced her to change it to Olivia but instead of telling anyone she waited til the birth. People brought stuff with Paisleigh on it to the hospital. Would have saved a lot of people some money if she would have just told people she changed names.

I’d wait until they are born to announce the names at this point. It’ll just look like you’re wishy washy if you announce now, or potentially like you’re looking for new stuff with those names. 
At least when they are born you can say they just didn’t “look” like those original names and people are less likely to have a hissy fit because well, you just gave birth to two babies. 
Also best not to announce now because.. what if you change your mind again? I refuse to tell anyone our baby name for this reason (and because I don’t care to hear people’s opinions on the matter)

Yes definitely change them now! That’s what you’ll call them the whole rest of their lives and you don’t wanna regret it just bc people bought you a few things already. They’ll understand!

Change the names of it doesn’t sound right to you..but maaaybe hold off on announcing in case you change your mind again.

Change the names to whichever you prefer. They are your kids and you have the right to change your mind until they are born and you have finalized it on the birth certificate. Sometimes you don't know which name is right until you hold your baby, it's why I plan to not announce the name until after my children are born. You are the parents and you make the rules, don't ever let anyone tell you differently!

I always but custom swaddles for newborns so they have them jn the hospital i know if i paid 60+ for a blanket to bring to the hosptial and they changed the name i would be upset..
Once i bought a carseat canopy with the name and the mom changed the name a day before the baby shower and didn't tell anyone until the party and i felt stupid wasted $40 for nothing since they changed the babies name
