When is it safe for a toddler to sleep with a comforter or large bed blanket?

My son is 2 and recently transitioned to a full size bed (mattress and box spring on ground with bed rail). He currently sleeps with a sleep sack and small blanket. He has a full/queen sized comforter, but I’m not sure when it’s safe to use.

I’d say it’s safe but pretty big for a little dude haha! My daughter likes smaller blankets cause she can cuddle them more but if he would like the big one I say go for it!

My baby has slept with a bigger blanket since she was one and so far it’s been good! If you’re concerned you could always start with those fleece throw sized blankets to get him used to it before a full sized comforter 😁

Totally fine. They’re able to move the blankets on their own as well as their heads.

I would just tuck it under the mattress and in between the rail so it doesn't get all twisted and clumped up. My son sleeps with a large blanket tucked in his crib
