Is it a good idea to stay friends with this guy?

I made a new friend nearly two days ago and we started talking as friends, I didn't do anything to make him think otherwise, at least I don't think so. I honestly don't know how to deal with situations like these😅 I've always avoided them growing up. I honestly feel like I'm socially retarded because of it.

He started saying that he's been wanting to talk to me all the time and missing me a lot. Its a bit overwhelming for me tbh. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😅 he also started calling me sweetheart when I said that he can just call me Belle. Like I don't know😖😥. He's been just messaging me and messaging me and messaging me, does he not have anything better to do😥

I just told him im not looking for anything more than friends with anyone right now. I'm kind of getting anxiety to what he might reply back😥
