Hi guys,

I am 22 years old and 7 weeks pregnant. I am currently in college and will graduate December, 2019. My baby’s due date is November 21. My parents do not know I am pregnant. I have no idea how I am going to tell them, especially my mother. To give you all some background, I am a first generation college student. My mom immigrated here at the age of 18. She is the stereotypical Asian mother who is all about succeeding in school and hopefully excelling into a high paying career. My family is very close knit and gossip to no end. Shame is a huge thing in Asian culture and I know this news will disappoint her. I know she loves me but I don’t want to break her heart. She does not want to see me struggle. I have an internship lined up this summer and, if I do well, a job lined up after I graduate. Things are coming out of order but I know it will work out in the end. I’m just so afraid and I don’t want her to look at me any differently. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Just looking for some advice. Sorry for the long rant!
