Those aren’t meant for unsupervised sleeping so i dont think they are technically safe for overnight sleeping. 
Plus you dont want to get him used to that since its only a temporary fix. Baby will still want to rocking motion when he outgrows it

I think it will be ok as long as it lays pretty flat and doesn’t have anything extra inside that could affect babies breathing/airway

No. Babies need a flat surface to sleep. Technically you might be able to get away with a supervised nap in this, but definitely not overnight. 
And I agree with the others: baby might get used to the rocking and might have a hard time falling asleep without it. Could be a hard habit to break.
