Anyone had a courthouse wedding?

I don’t want a big wedding bc I want to save the money to travel and such. I don’t know how the process works lol. All the advice and tips helps lol

You apply for a marriage license. Then you show up on whatever day the judge is doing ceremonies and get in line. The courthouse will let you know if there’s a waiting period or specific day/time/reservation requirement.

Apply for the license and choose a date. Show up, have the ceremony done and that's it. At least that's how it was for us (14 years ago) in SC.

I'm in Tennessee. My husband and I married almost 6 years ago at the courthouse. We went in and bought the marriage certificate and asked if they could marry us there the day we bought it and they did.
