When to pack your bag and install the car seat

Question

I'm currently 33 weeks but high risk and have been having Braxton hicks for about a week pretty much non stop so I feel he will come early I plan to pack a bag soon but my husband does not want to install the car seat for me yet I feel like if I don't I will regret it. Is it to soon??

You want to wait to install your car seat until you are on your way to the hospital most hospitals check that it’s installed properly anyway. And god forbid you get in an accident before the baby comes you will need to get a new car seat if it was installed while you got in an accident

I started packing my bags, but I don’t plan to finish until around 36 weeks. As far as the car seat goes, if it makes you feel better put the seat and base in the trunk. Don’t install it until it’s time for the baby to come. If anything happens and you are in an car accident you won’t be able to use the car seat.

I'm 37 weeks and have just been slowly getting things together. I put together a bag of toiletries for my husband and I a couple weeks ago and packed the baby's diaper bag today. We probably won't put together a bag of clothes and other essentials until I've gone into labor because I'm still using some of the things that will eventually get packed(clothes, pillow, etc.) I'm hoping to get the car seat installed soon. Baby dropped this week and I just have a feeling she's going to be making her appearance soon.

I’m 33 weeks with twins, their bag is packed, mine isn’t yet. We have tried the car seats in the car, both bases are in mine.  I’ve been having NSTs for a couple of weeks now since I’m high risk and my BP was high (now medicated).  I will probably not make it much beyond 35 weeks, but that is considered normal for twins.

I’m 35+5. Started packing hospital bag a week ago. Installed the car seat a week ago. I’m not high risk and haven’t had any contractions that I know of but if I can get things done now I figure why wait until the last minute 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was going to install my seat one night when I was 33 weeks because I was excited and wanted to be ready. I ended up getting too tired and went to bed and didn’t do it. That’s very next morning I rolled my car. It would have damaged my seat and I would have had to get a new one. This time I won’t install until I’m headed to hospital. 
As far as bags go I’m 35+2 and plan to do it tomorrow.

Have been talking about starting my hospital bag, making lots of notes on my phone and then this morning around 4AM I roll over, feel a sharp pain and a small gush and think OMG is this it?!??!
It wasn’t!  lol, but I started packing my bag finally as the random things I’d noted to pack were literally all over the house!  Definitely feeling a little better about it, and at least now I can toss things in as I think of them.  34+3!

I’m 36+1 now. I installed ONLY the base yesterday. My car’s latch bars are extremely difficult to reach. It took me 45 minutes, a mental breakdown with tears, and phoning a friend who has 2 children to get my base installed. I am SO glad I won’t have to worry about that during labor. The car seat I will click in before leaving for the hospital. So moral of that story, I would test installing the car seat. If it’s easy for you, I would wait until labor starts so you don’t risk having to get another one if you wreck between now and then. If it’s a pain in the butt like mine, just install the base. As for hospital bags, I packed at 35 weeks but in your case I would do it now.

I haven't done the car seat, probably closer to about 35--- okay, was just about to say 35 weeks but then realized I'm 35 weeks tomorrow 😂 man time flies. So, I guess some time in the next couple weeks 😂 
I did my hospital bag a couple weeks ago, will be packing baby's soon and my oldest son's.

I’m doing the car seat today only because I’m tired of it being in the way inside 😂 I’m 35 weeks tomorrow.
