Safe to travel at 31 weeks?

So my boyfriends family lives in New Jersey and we currently live in Kentucky and we have been wanting to visit his family for a while. His mom just said that they were gonna go June 25-July 7th and wants to know if we will go with them. How safe is flying this far along? And if it’s not safe, then could I be in a car for that long?

Yes. I traveled with my first every 4 weeks up until 35 weeks. I lived in IL due to school when I was pregnant with my first and my husband lived in NV. At 35 weeks I finally was able to move out here and stay

Most airlines don’t require a doctor’s note until 36 weeks (and that’s for international, not sure about domestic but I would think that would be even more lenient). 
Just ask your doctor what they think because it would be based on your personal health.

I'll be 33 weeks when we drive too Utah this summer to go to the family cabin it's at least an eight hour drive did it my last pregnancy too and didn't have any issues i think it really depends on your health and how you're feeling

It depends on you and your doctor.  I am flying from Georgia to Vermont at 30 weeks and my doctor said it was fine. 
That being said we used airline miles and sprang for the first class seats so I could be totally comfortable. 🙌🏻

I am traveling the 2nd week of July at 33/34 weeks for work and my doctor gave me the ok 👍🏼. I think it depends on how you are feeling and how everything is with your pregnancy at that point

Talk with your doctor. Mine allows travel up to 36 weeks as long as there aren’t any complications. Some airlines will ask for a form or doctor’s note to clear you for flight! I’ll be flying to and from Florida at 31 and will probably get a note just to be safe.

I personally won’t be traveling after 27 weeks. My Doctor said not to if I can help it and I am not high risk. Also you may be very very uncomfortable in a car for that long of a drive. We live in NC and our family lives in KY, my mother in law offered to throw a baby shower at 31 weeks for me and I declined. Too far along for that long of a drive (plus you have to think you have to do it twice because of returning.) I also know a woman who was sent to the ER for 3 days because of a long car trip at 30 weeks. It apparently gave her a lot of complications. If anything, I would fly. I can’t imagine a flight from NJ to KY being too long.
