going back to eating meat

i’ve been vegetarian for three years now, and my doctor suspects that i am anemic. i’m currently in university living on my own and i get home most nights after 5:30. if i am anemic i think it will be easiest and best for me to resume eating meat. i will be moving in with my boyfriend in september and he is not vegetarian.

i’m wondering if anyone has gone back to eating meat after going vegetarian, and if there’s anything i should do. i don’t know if i’ll ever go back to eating red meat as i know that it is the worst for the environment (although it is highest in iron so of course this may not be a choice i can make, but i will discuss it with my doctor).

i’ve heard of a lot of people getting sick as their body no longer produces the enzymes that breakdown meat. have any of you had any problems with that? if so did you take supplements (for those enzymes) until your body got used to it again?

if you have tips for feeling better about it (like i feel guilty eating meat) that would also be great! i have purchased reusable period products to cut down some of my waste and help the environment that way, but i still feel bad that an animal has to die.

ps. i do NOT think that people who eat meat should feel guilty for it. clearly being vegetarian has caused me a lot of health problems and it is not a lifestyle everyone can achieve. also there are many other ways to help the environment.

also if you eat meat and don’t know what the industry does in terms of the environment or the mistreatment of animals themselves i can recommend some videos if anyone would like! and you don’t have to go vegetarian ever, cutting down your intake and/or sometimes switching to white meat can make an impact too!

if any of this sounds like i’m trying to bash on those who eat meat i’m sorry! but i promise i am not ☺️❤️

thanks to anyone who gives any tips or advice! 💕💕
