Subaru safe family car?

My husband and I are ttc. No luck so far but I am in need of a new vehicle and am thinking towards our future. I would love to get a Subaru Forester. Just wondering for those of you who have a Forester and children or any Subaru and children, are you happy with your vehicle? Has it been safe? Is the upkeep manageable? How does it do for your kids?

Toyotas are super safe AND reliable. Last year I got rearended, I was at a dead stop on an exit ramp of the freeway, the other guy was going about 40 or 50mph, my 5 year old was completely unharmed and I had a small bruise where my arm hit the door.
I have had subarus in the past, never been in an accident with one. I had to get a lot of work on the motors though. But I still love Subies!!

They are very safe, and mechanically quite reliable. My brother is a mechanic though, and he does say they are quite expensive to service and maintain so has discouraged it for us for that reason

Love love love my Subaru Outback! It's perfect for two kiddos and a husky. We found our Forester to be too small for our needs. But on a huge plus side, we get major discounts through our insurance because Subarus are such a safe vehicle. Although, if we have anymore babies we will definitely be upgrading to the Subaru Ascent.

I love my Subaru! I'm in Australia, and they meet the highest safety standards here! We've got an Impreza and a Liberty (Legacy elsewhere I believe?), And love them both. The Impreza is built on the same platform as the Forester, the Forester is just a bigger cabin. We have an almost 11 month old, and love all the safety features in the cars, I think they're great for a family car.
