Nipple issues

Over the last few months I have developed dry itchy splotches on my areola and nipples. They are so sensitive that even the lightest graze makes them itch so bad. I've been scratching and it's starting to scar.

So I thought maybe it was just from taking too hot of showers. I've started taking practically cold ones now and it hasn't helped. I put moisturizer and cortisone cream on them to try to make them quit itching at least and it doesn't really help.

I'm calling my doctor today to see if she can figure it out but I wondered if anybody here has dealt with anything similar and if so what can I do until the doc can see me?
