No Kisses?

What’s the best way to tell people who come to visit your baby that they shouldn’t kiss your newborn? I know three people in my family have oral herpes and I don’t want my son to get it. But one is my grandma and I know she’s going to try to kiss the baby. What’s the best way to tell them “no kisses”?.

Knowing she has herpes & still kissing the baby is absolutely selfish. That's would be too much of a risk for me to take. I would not let her see the baby if she cant control herself.

I have told all my friends and family there will be no kissing my baby! I have had a few members say “oh not even a peck” and I say nope! She can’t tell you no yet so I will... not worth the risk! And honestly I feel should be common sense not to kiss a newborn child lol I don’t get why people get so offended by that being a rule. 
And If they don’t like it than they can look but not touch my baby at all 🤷🏼‍♀️

We just flat out told people. Everyone thought we were nuts but we wanted to wait on people kissing our baby until she got her first round of shots. They listened to us thank goodness, but always remember its YOUR baby, your rules. They dont have to like it, but they can either abide by it or leave 🤷‍♀️

I have oral herpes and I have made a blanket rule of no kissing my child for everyone except my hubby and me...I know when I’m active and I don’t kiss my kids anywhere near the eyes or mouth in attempts to prevent non active shedding. I received mine from family members and I have had cold sores since I was a kid. I would like at avoid my children from having it, but the chances are high that they will. Interestingly my hubby has never shown signs of having contracted it, so maybe my boys will be ok. It’s hard to draw lines for extended family, but a blanket rule makes it seem like your protecting, not targeting a certain part of the family

You let them know that it's not that you are trying to be mean or rude but would like for them to respect your wishes that you don't want anyone kissing the baby no where near his face at all that they can kiss him on his feet
