Heartbeat Doppler are they any good ?

I’m only 5 weeks and I know I won’t be able to hear the heartbeat till at least 8 weeks but I wondered if they work or are any good ?x

I got one with last pregnancy...hard to detect sometimes early on. So if you do get one just know it can sometimes be hard to detect. Also, it depends what location your placenta is in your uterus. I will probably use mine after 12 week mark because I don't want to freak myself out as this is my rainbow baby.

We got one for my last pregnancy. I got the Sonoline B and if I remember correctly I think it cost like $39 and came with the gel. It was perfect. I literally used it almost every single day. I was first able to find the HB at 9 weeks. That was even tough though. The problem with them is that if for some reason you can’t find the HB you are automatically going to freak out and get nervous and that’s why doctors don’t recommend them. The thing is until the end of your pregnancy you may not be able to find the HB every time you try. You also just need to make sure you’re looking in the right spot. I watched a few YouTube videos go really help me understand the best way to use the Doppler and where to look.

It is recommended to avoid excess fetal exposure to the waves produced by doppler and ultrasound, so I wouldn’t buy one for the home since the length of time spent using it is typically way more than at a doctors office.
