Longer Naps = waking up more in the night?

My babe has been napping for longer periods lately. Will he start sleeping less at night? Curious of other mommas experiences

My son was awful napper but slept well at night. Now he started napping for 1-2 hours 2x a day, but his nighttime sleep has gotten worse. Sometimes he’s up for 2 hours in middle of night. Could just be his age or many other things - I don’t know if it’s naps per se.

My baby doesn't take naps at all during the day.. she goes to bed at 8:30 and wakes up at 8.

I’ve heard (and experienced) that if baby naps well during the day they actually sleep better at night 🤷🏽‍♀️ if my babe refuses naps all and is crabby, he wakes up like every 2 hours at night. Whereas when he takes a couple long naps during the day he only wakes up once during the night. You’d think it’d be the opposite! Every baby is different obviously though!
