Period and BF

I've had my period twice since getting the mirena iud. I'm currently breastfeeding. I got my first period, which lasted 2 weeks, after it was put in place. I didn't bleed for about a week and now it started again. I'm being told that it has nothing to do with iud and everything to do with the fact that I gave birth a few months ago & since I'm breastfeeding. Anyone else?
