Has a guy ever told you he’s going kill himself after breaking up with him?

So today I heard something that really shook me. My mom told me that the guy my sister broke up with, told my sister he can’t live without her and wants to kill himself. Also he recently he lost his job and said it was because of the breakup, he said he wasn’t functioning because she left him so they fired him.
Has anyone ever experienced this?
I never take these things lightly, do you think a stable person would be acting this way?
Need advice please. I live overseas so I’m not there with them. 
How would you handle this situation, and what should my sister do?

He’s manipulative and narcissistic. My ex husband did this so I called the cops to do a welfare check on him. He called me back PISSED that I called the cops on him. I was like “You said you were going to kill yourself. Seems like they were the best resource.” 🤷🏻‍♀️ Then he threatened me to never ever call the cops again. But I did, the next time he threatened suicide and showed them the text messages. He eventually stopped.

This is purely abusive and emotionally manipulative. I haven’t been in this situation, so I don’t know a good way out, but what he does is not your responsibility. Do what’s safe, and that’s it. The rest is not up to you.

My ex was this way. He would make the biggest scene, drop to floor clutching his chest like he was dying. 
Would say he's going to kill himself and then have me walking through the woods looking for him. 
My advice is to just leave and cut off all contact because it is 100% not your fault if it happens. Maybe try to let law enforcement know about the situation and that you plan on leaving but are worried he will hurt himself etc
Regardless, do not stay. It WILL only get worse.

My ex was like this. She was a girl, but after we broke up she threatened it to me nearly every day. One time I was walking to my friends birthday party and she appeared out of nowhere so I briefly made conversation and then tried to walk away but then she hands me a piece of paper with suicide notes all over it. I tried to walk her back home (she lived miles away from where we were and it was at night) but she wouldn’t go and told me I “should just leave and go have fun at the party” while she wandered off, in front of some poor driver on the busy road. I talked to her for over an hour until I called the police to take her home (would have called her family but they don’t get on and it would have made it worse). After that night she texted me saying how disgustingly selfish I was for ignoring the problem and literally every time she talked to me it was “this is the last time you’ll see me”. Me and my mum talked to counselling at school and her mum, and then I blocked her on everything. She still actually found a way to message me but I blocked her again. Moral of the story is: find an authority figure that can deal with the emotions he a feeling rather than your sister taking the full force of it. It’ll drive her crazy — it shouldn’t be her responsibility, they are not together anymore. He’ll probably tell her that she’s the only person who can fix it or he doesn’t have anyone else, but honestly that’s a disgusting manipulative tactic and emotional abuse. Advise her to block his number and social media and speak to his mum or his friend about how he’s told her he feels. It would really help the both of them to not see, hear or talk about one another in order for his mental health to improve, as well as your sisters. I hope everything goes okay, you seem like a very good, caring sister to her ❤️

It’s not her fault or responsibility at all. It’s entirely his inability to be alone. It’s an important thing that I’m currently working on myself. He should see a therapist.

Big big big red flag for abuse. If someone threatens suicide call their bluff and call 911 right away. It’s a manipulation and abuse tactic

I was with a man for over two years who threatened suicide every time we argued or anything. It's very controlling and manipulative. 
Usually this is an abusive trait. I suggest she just contacts his family and let them know what's going on and just block his number. There's no need for him to be stressing her out because 9/10 they don't so anything, they're all talk so they can get attention.
