When to transition your toddler(s) to a bed?

I have twin boys that are almost a year and a half and they have slept in their pack and plays since we didn’t have cribs at the time since they were 3 months old. By the time we GOT cribs I honestly just didn’t want to put them in it bc of SIDS 
Anyways when can they transition to big boy beds ? How did you do it?

When they start trying to climb out, or can climb out, it’s time for the upgrade. Toddler proof the room if it isn’t already, but I’m sure it is, and then switch the beds. I switched my 4 yo when she was 2. She had successfully gotten a leg over the crib railing when I went in to get her from a nap, and that day I switched her to a toddler bed. It’s safer for them to be closer to the ground if they feel the need to go exploring before it’s time to get up. That way the fall is only 6 inches from the floor and there is no worry of any bones being broken from a crib/pack n play fall.

I put my son in a bed a week after he turned 1. My mom bought it for my sons birthday so we just set it up the day it arrived. I just let him explore it and showed him how to get on and off. He got it down right away and went to sleep on it the first night.

We transitioned about a month before my daughter turned two. Honestly it was way easier than I anticipated. I didn’t use much of a method just kind of did it. If I were you I’d wait as long as possible, I’ll bet they might get into some mischief together lol. I only did because she was jumping out of her crib.
