What should schools do about suicide?
I am a current high schooler and pretty much my entire life I have kids around me deal with depression and suicidal thoughts and actions. I have even warned the school about certain people who seem like they are going to hurt themselves; however, I hear of no improvement. Parent at my school don’t care as well. If a kid has good grades then there’s nothing to worry about and if they don’t have good grades then people focus on that. It hurts to see my friends like this, with no one trying to help.
Do you think the school should do more? What should they do to help? Is there anything normal people can do then basic help lines and talking to parents?
Sadly all I try to do is tell my parent and help the I can. But what should be done? I feel like the school should work on relieving stress or something. Something during class Bc the kids at this school don’t have extra time. It’s all about going to the “best college”. I don’t think school is suppose to be like this.
Is there a way to take away homework? To take away stress?
Basically does anyone have any ideas? I want to fight for something I just don’t know what to do.
