Home birth? Immunizations, birth certificate, ect?

Im not even pregnant yet, but i think i'd like to have my baby at home. Does anyone know how you go about getting immunizations, a birth certificate, and any of the other stuff they normally give you? Do you have to pay for those things? I live in the US.

All of that will be included in your midwives package but you always have to pay for birth certificate even after a hospital birth. Midwives do the normal baby immunizations and testing as well as the 6 week postpartum checkup and Pap test for you. All included in their package.

I’m about to have my second home birth. Midwife will definitely have all of the birth certificate information for you, you just have to fill it out and send it in. As for immunizations, you will want to schedule those with your selected pediatrician, as midwives don’t generally handle those- although if you haven’t picked out a pediatrician yet, they could probably give you some recommendations. 👍🏼

I’m having a Home birth FTM and my midwives are providing everything other than immunization. But that’s why you go to a pediatrician for the shots if that’s what you want. You can always do a delayed shot schedule. I recommend reading the vaccine book by dr sear.
