What are your thoughts on young kids using social media?

I don’t have a specific stance on this issue but I’m a mom to be (Due October 7th) and I was curious about your opinions on letting young kids use social media. My nephew has had an Instagram account since he was 9 or 10 (he’s 12 now) and he posts some not so appropriate things on there that a 12 year old probably shouldn’t be posting. I wasn’t allowed to have a Facebook or Instagram account until I was in high school and now I don’t feel the need to post every aspect of my life on there. I know that legally most websites don’t allow children under 13 to make an account but a lot of parents don’t enforce this rule. I would love to know your thoughts!
