Is this normal?

15 weeks pp and I started my first pp period 4/5 days ago, pretty heavy. I got the IUD inserted on day 3, 2 days ago. 
I've been having pain in my hips/lower back and my c section scar hurts as well
I can't tell if it's from my period or the IUD?

You can have cramping and random bleeding for up to 6 months. Completely normal

This is IUD number 2 for me, caveat, I have never been pregnant so it’s a little different. But that kind of cramping is totally normal. Especially if you get it inserted on your period. If you went the hormonal route eg mirena, the cramps will definitely lighten up over the first few months,  with the copper iud cramps are more intense during periods. Either way (I’ve had both hormonal and copper), the cramping at least for me lasted about a month or so, but definitely improved over the first few weeks. TLDR: I went from the pill to the copper this time around, the cramping was much more intense and lasted a while but that’s normal and it did improve.
