Advice on a dry tickly cough

I’m 8 weeks pregnant nearly give or take a day or 2, I went to the drs last week with a very sore ear and throat but they advised just viral, I also had a cough which they said would get better in a few says, anyways a week on my cough hasn’t improved, it’s driving me up the wall!! The pharmacist gave me some glucose medicine but said I couldn’t take anything else with being pregnant. Has anyone got any tips on how to get rid of this cough which is safe in pregnancy?
