I thought this video was interesting. He says mucus builds up in the back of your vagina and sometimes a big amount comes out at once, but it was never plugging up your cervix. It's not like a cork that comes out like people think. That's why you can see this discharge but not go into labor yet. Or why you can see it multiple times over time. Or why some women never see it.
