Water for constipation for newborns?

My son is 9 days old now, and has been having gas pains and maybe one poop every 24 hours, my aunt suggested adding a little extra water to his formula to help him pass poop. Has anyone else heard this or done it before?

Absolutely not. That is very dangerous (look up water intoxication) along with diluting the only source of nutrition they have. 
Gas drops and gripe water are both great things, along with bicycle legs and tummy massages. Its also normal for them to be gassy, and they dont have to poop every day.

Your baby is very young ask your doctor before doing anything. Don’t dilute the formula. On every packaging it strictly says that you have to follow the ratio or it’ll make the baby very sick

My health visitor said I can give my 2 week old some cooled boiled water between feeds. I put 30ml in a sterile bottle. Seemed to ease him slightly I was very worried about him and had him at docs and I mentioned to the doc about water and he said yeah that's fine aslong as separate from feed xx
