Cord blood bank??????

I keep seeing ads for it and I tried to read up on it but I'm still confused as to what it is, n how it effects my baby. Can someone explain please?

What the previous commenter said, you pay to have baby’s blood stored in case they need it later in life. 
So my first pregnancy, I had the blood donated. This birth, I want to delay clamping as long as the OB is okay with it. Letting the placenta pulse longer allows most the blood to flow back to baby and helps with iron storage as well as increases blood volume by up to a third.

If you store the cord blood it can help your baby later if they ever developed cancer, blood diseases like anemia, or certain immune disorders because of the stem cells within the blood. Instead of storing the cord blood I’m choosing to let as much blood as possible pump from the placenta into my baby which means I won’t be clamping the cord immediately after birth because from the research I’ve done, it can cause anemia if your baby’s cord is clamped immediately (of course that’s not in every case) but it’s a decision you have to talk to your doctor about and see if it’s allowed.
