When do babies start rotating?

I'm 29 weeks today, and my doctor's already planning C-section with general anesthesia 🙄... Because I have rods in my back. But my little girl is still laying sideways. He said she should turn by now?

Most babies won’t turn till just before 36 weeks. If you make it to 36 weeks and baby is still breech or transverse then it’s unlikely they will flip....
But it’s not impossible. My last baby I went in at 36w3d baby was breech. Went back at 37w3d and he was head down. And stayed head down.

Seems like odd advice. I have been told by everyone I have seen and from what I’ve read that it’s only after 36 weeks that they start to get a bit concerned if they baby is still transverse. At that point they should offer you ECV and try that a few times and then finally you may consider a C-Section to be the best option if that doesn’t work. Some babies only turn at the start of labour, especially if they’re not the first one. At the point you’re at the baby is still moving around and changing position a fair bit. I would see a different doctor for a second opinion :) x

My doctor said that until about 34 weeks, they really don’t care if baby has flipped or not. By 36 weeks, then they start to be a little concerned and will have you do some things to try to help flip baby. You have a long ways to go so I’m surprised your doctor is already planning for that
