Should daycares be required to drug test their employees regularly?
So I worked in a daycare for almost two months, a couple years ago, when my daughter was about 9 months old. Before that I was a SAHM, and have been ever since I quit. When working there it dawned on me I wasn’t drug tested nor was anyone I worked with. To be honest I did not trust my a couple of my fellow employees that I worked with, and that took care of my daughter. (Your not allowed to work with your own children) I found out while I was working in the preschool room, she ate a mouth full of wood chips outside and almost choked on them. All because the employees that were supposed to be watching her weren’t. I had suspicions that one of the girls I worked with took drugs. She always seemed a little off to me and was always on her phone looking like she was ready to nod out. I wish I had quit sooner. I expressed my concern to my boss before this incident happened and she said she would look into it. Clearly she didn’t do shit about it, probably scared she would be short staffed. I quit the day I found out about this. Just wondering for other people is it a requirement to be drug tested where your from? I don’t want to offend anyone who has their child or children in daycare because there are definitely great ones out there, and I understand sometimes it’s necessary.
