How does it work? When your child is potty trained and your going to a pool?

Do you still put a swim diaper on? Or underwear underneath?

If they are fully potty trained i just make my son go potty before we hit the pool and then let him go in a regular suit no extras... when he was still not 100% potty trained i kept him in a reusable swim diaper under his shorts.

If they're potty trained but still have occasional accidents (like when they're having way too much fun to stop playing) then I'd say still use a swim diaper.
If they're 100% trained, no accidents for a long long time even when having fun, then just the suit, nothing else. If they haven't been swimming since trained though, wouldn't hurt to wear a swim diaper just in case. My son hasn't pooped in his normal diapers for a couple months, but he still occasionally poops in the pool (in his two layers of swim diaper). I think it's the warmth of the heated pool plus not wanting to get out to go potty.

Our daughter will be 2 next month and has been fully potty trained for 3+ months now. She wears just a normal swimsuit in the pool. She pees before we get in the water and then she lets me know if she has to go while swimming and we take her. If they're potty trained, then there shouldn't be a need for swim diapers.

It depends. If I'm going to my mil's pool I just do the swimsuit. If I'm going to a public pool or splash pad I still use a swim diaper. In my city there's a law that says you must still use a swim diaper if under 3. Even if the child is potty trained. So it depends on your city and if you're doing a public or private pool.

Just a swimsuit. If they were only trained recently just make sure to ask like every 20 mins if they have to go. Make them go before putting on the suit, then again right before getting in the water the first time because sometimes the temp and sensation of the water can make them need to go
