Chunky breast milk?

So im exclusively pumping and lately my breast milk is just chunky. Its only been refrigerated for 1-3 days and they get chunky within an hour when they are supposed to be good for 4. It never used to get gross so fast but now it always looks like this straight from the fridge! Anyone have the same problem?

I don't understand some of these comments. You can definitely keep milk in the fridge up to 3 days. I keep mine for five days and if it goes unused then I freeze it. That is what every single Lactation consultant has told me in two of my hospital stays and the one who came to my house. It's even in the pamphlet one of them gave me. The chunks in your milk look like fat deposits. Does it smell ok? If so, then just warm it up and they should melt.

For those saying that you can’t keep it in for 3 days I don’t think that’s true. I keep my milk in the fridge for up to 5/6 days and if I don’t use it I freeze it. But mines is never chunky like that if I keep it in that long. Maybe watch where in the fridge your putting it. Like it should be in the back

My breast milk goes bad unusually fast. It goes bad after about 1 day in the fridge and 2 weeks in the freezer unless I scald it first. For me I believe it's the amount of lipase in the milk.

That doesn’t look too weird to me. Maybe it is just the fat content coming together. Freshly expressed milk can last in the fridge a few days. I like kellymom.com’s handling instructions which include an article discussing the reasons why there are a wide range of guidelines on this subject hence why you are getting so many answers.

Sorry but I don’t think the milk can be refrigerated for up to 3 days long, you have to freeze it. Look what they say in my country 😉other thing is the Lípase try to search about it.
