Can spouses owe each other money?

In marriage, is the money always shared or can spouses owe each other? Like if your husband needed money for a bill, would you expect him to pay you back? If you were short on money, would your husband expect you to pay him back? 
I'm just curious what most people on here think.

Idk what to even vote because I’ve literally never viewed it as “borrowing” money from my husband. We share a checking account and literally all of our money is shared. I’ve never actually viewed my wages as MY money or his as HIS money, it’s all OUR money 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not in my marriage. Once we got married everything was combined into a joint account and all bills were paid from there, we are a team

My spouse and I have a shared account as well as separate accounts.  If he needed money I’d give it to him and vice versa and not expect to get it back?  You’re married for a reason.

From a legal standpoint, no - what’s his is yours and what’s yours is his. From a common sense standpoint, also no.

I find this super weird. It’s all ours. I do control most of the money because I pay bills and my husband loves to spend but it’s available to both of us for whatever we need. If we spend a lot on something (like over $500) we will chat about it first.

If it’s to help with a shared bill, then we don’t owe each other. But if I need extra for something I wanted (ie. to get my nails done) then I would pay him back

We have a shared account. I would never expect him to pay me back or the other way around. But everyone is different so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m having a hard time answering this one. In my marriage, all of our money is shared, but I definitely know people who keep it separate, so yes, of course they could owe each other.

🤷‍♀️ I never really thought about what most people do with their mo way when married.  
My husband doesn’t look at it like his money and my money but our money.  Hell I don’t even work right now. I’m a stay at home mom. Have been for 2 years now.
