Insufficient Glandular Tissue?

Rebecca

Hi all, I wasn't sure which group to ask this. Forgive me if this should have been posted somewhere else 🙈 Has anyone

been told or self diagnosed with insufficient glandular tissue? I knew something was wrong when I was pregnant and delivered my first. My breasts never filled with milk and I was never able to pump more than 1 oz at a time (total, both sides!) I gave up trying to pump/nurse. I now have a 9 day old and struggling with the same issues. I also noticed my baby doesn't poop and is very gassy when he drinks my milk, even though he only gets 1 oz. roughly every feeding (the rest is formula). It also doesn't seem to fill him up at all. He drinks the same amount of formula each feeding whether he drinks my milk at the same time or not.

I went to a lactation consultant on Monday and she suggested I have insufficient glandular tissue. In doing research, the symptoms fit me to a T. It's discouraging, but I'm glad I finally found out why I was having so many issues.

Has anyone else experienced insufficient glandular tissue? What was your experience with breastfeeding or pumping?

It's just one of those things that I would love to know I'm not alone.
