Is this normal??
So basically a woman took her kid to a Build a Bear Birthday party, the parents throwing the party had each child give their bear to the birthday girl. The parents and children were not told about this ahead of time.
*the mom that asked the question on reddit pitched in $30 as she knows these parties can be expensive,
Do you think it was acceptable for the parents to make the guests do that?? It seems like they were saying they couldn’t really afford the party to let everyone take them home, so they made them give them back basically.

My opinion: if the parent had said on the invitation “please do not purchase any additional presents, the birthday girl would like to get a bear styled by each guest” or SOMETHING to note that the children wouldn’t be taking their bears home.
