4 week growth spurt...?

FTM here... Our little guy was born at 41+1. Little one is usually spot on with waking every 3-3.5 hours for feedings. But the last two days he has been sleeping between feedings much longer than normal - like 4-5 hours. Still having a good number of wet diapers, but diapers aren’t like “heavy” wet. Anyone else experience this? I’m paranoid 😭. Checked him with a rectal thermometer and he doesn’t have a fever.

My little girl usually goes 5 to 6 hours in the night time between feedings. He will eat when he is hungry and as long as he’s not losing weight he should be fine.

Mine is doing this too!  He's also been falling asleep during feedings,  making them much shorter than normal for him (I think he was on the longer end anyways before). Unfortunately I think this is contributing to my clogged milk ducts. Our bodies were so in sync before with breastfeeding.  I hope my body adjusts to his new schedule soon.

4-5 hours at night is fine, but 4-5 hours a day might be concerning. The drs want the babies to eat every 3 hours or so during the day to make sure they are getting the calories they need. An overly tired baby could mean that he isn’t getting enough calories and instead if being awake is reserving energy by sleeping.

My little one has started this at almost 5 weeks. He has started sleeping more at night as well
