Is it wrong to name my son a biblical name?

I'm an atheist. Is it wrong of me to name my son Abel?

It’s not wrong, but in my opinion (as an athiest) it is a little weird. 
People will just assume you are religious. Only you can decide if that will annoy you. 
It would annoy me, so I specifically avoid biblical names.

Nobody would think to ask every Chris or Christina if they’re Christian (which they’re not btw). They’re just so mainstream, there isn’t a huge religious connotation anymore. Abel is just less common so it makes you wonder. But don’t worry, it’s a cool name, use it.

When I hear Abel I just think of Sons of Anarchy. I'm not religious though and I had no idea Abel was from the bible 🤷‍♀️

My second daughter has a biblical/ holiday name. She was born in December so I wanted something to fit with her winter birthday so I named her Genesis Noelle. It fits her so perfectly too.
