At home cervical checks?

Any mamas here check their own cervix at home? How do you do it? I don’t get another update until Wednesday but I’ve been having contractions on and off and I’m dying to know if I’ve progressed anymore!!!!

I wouldn’t try. Don’t want to risk any kind of infection or anything. Besides, how in earth would you reach?? I can barely reach to wipe properly after I use the bathroom, and that’s a struggle. Your cervix is waaaay up there. Just wait for the doctor to do it.

Wash your hands with soap and warm water, use lube, and squat and try or you can sit on the toilet and lift one leg up. You may or may not reach. I had to get my husband to try and he couldn’t reach either. Doctor ended up having me lay on my back and ball up my fists under my butt and he was able to reach at my last Appt.

No need to try it at home. Is it worth it? Especially since it doesn’t matter if you’re dilated or not

I wouldn’t try it. You can get an infection. My poor doctor has to stand in front of me and push all the way back as far as she can. I don’t think I could reach myself anyway
