Pediatricians advice ???

Did anyone else’s baby’s pediatrician advise you to not take baby out in public spaces till 6 weeks? I’m just wondering if this is realistic.. my baby is 4 weeks on Tuesday but I’m so tired of being around the neighborhood, I’m ready to go out in public😭 
+ I’m switching pediatricians because I didn’t get a goood vibe from her our first appointment, she kept answering her phone while we were talking to her & our appt just felt rushed

We went out when she was 3 days old 🤷🏻‍♀️ my first was 2 days old and we went grocery shopping

One of ours said to be careful with Putin gs since the flu season was still in effect. But now with confirmed measles and an infant death of whooping cough has me very paranoid.

Nope. We took both our babies out in public way before that. However, no social gatherings where the baby will be passed around until that time.

Ours did. But, I was Group B Strep positive and he came so fast I didn’t get by second round of antibiotics.
She told me if he gets a fever in the first 3 months I need to go directly to the ER where they will perform a blood panel, catheter for a urine culture and a SPINAL TAP. Automatically. 
So as much as I’d like to get out, I can’t risk it, I couldn’t survive watching him get a spinal tap. I have a 3 year old so it’s tough, we do play outside and go on lots of walks.

I was told even longer living in the north due to an abnormally bad flu season and my little man being born early and small. 9 weeks old and still waiting to get cleared.

They say that due to a whopping cough risk. But as long as theres no strangers holding or kissing baby youll be fine. 6weeks is pretty much when bany will get vaccines

We have been taking baby out since we left the hospital it’s not like they touch anything or anyone gets close to us. If some weirdo tries to goo goo over baby just walk away 🤷🏻‍♀️ also it’s good to shop around for the right pediatrician. It’s so nice to have a doctor you respect and feel  safe in what they tell you.

You can take your baby out, just avoid direct sunlight to the baby and dont let anyone hold the baby in public places just to avoid any sickness being passed around

Mine advised we wait until after 2 weeks. We did and now we use a car seat cover when we go to the store so she’s still a bit more protected.

Mine told me when i asked at his 2 week appt that I "could've taken him out in public a week ago. " I'm exclusively breastfeeding and he's therefore getting all my antibodies until he gets his own vaccinations.
