Is making everyone who is going to be around your baby get a tdap over the top?

Nope. We're requiring Tdap EVERYONE who comes to see baby before he or she is vaccinated. Pertussis isn't worth it. I'll watch all my Bridges burn to ashes before I put my child's life at risk

No it’s not over the top. I didn’t have many people around my baby his first 6 months. When my mom and aunt were gonna stay with us for a week, I asked them to make sure they were both up to date. My mom actually got her shot because I asked her to 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nope I was upfront with people and told them if they wanna hold baby and visit the hospital they needed it done. None of my family had an issue getting them.

No, I don’t think so. Have to protect your little one. Luckily, my SIL had her baby two months before I had mine. She made a big fuss about everyone getting their TDAP, so I didn’t have to rail on anyone. All our family already had the vaccine when my turn came around lol.

It’s not over the top if it makes you feel comfortable! Every decision you make is to protect your baby and whatever gives you peace of mind, you should do. It’s hard to not worry what others will think, but your baby’s safety is the top priority :)

I have made every relative get one and their flu shot. And even friends have to be germ free and up on there shots or they don’t get to see my little one. I had whooping cough (the p in tdap) at 13 and had to be taken to the hospital in a ambulance because i turned blue and they had to hook me up to oxygen the whole way there. I was coughing so hard i had zero bladder control. It’s nothing to play around with. I honestly don’t understand why anyone would want to risk that on a baby. I talked with the great grandparents about whooping cough and they didn’t have the option for the shot 2 of them almost died from getting it when they were infants. It’s no joke.
