I originally posted this in the fur babies room, but I wanted to post in another room to hopefully get some more advice or tips and include some left out information. Hopefully the semi wrong room doesn’t bother anyone too much because I want as much advice as I can get before acting on the issue. I have a stray that I’ve had for a few years, she’s a medium sized dog, and is not aggressive towards people, but is very aggressive towards new dogs or dogs that don’t live with us, and recently she’s been aggressive to my dads 1 year old puppy. It started out being aggressive to new dogs that don’t live with us, such as when my sister brings her dog down she will act like she’s going to bite his head off. Now she is becoming more aggressive with the puppy and more often in the span of a few days. It would break my heart to give her away, but at this point it’s become a chore to have her, and I just don’t feel that bond and love I had with her. She is so mean to other dogs and it gets in the way with a lot of things. She is fine with our other dog, but like I said she’s more frequently getting aggressive to the puppy when they used to play so well. Im 17 so I don’t make nearly enough to take her to a trainer and I don’t know what else could help. I read that it could be a dominance issue so I’m going to start making her sleep in a crate instead of my bed and feed her alone compared to feeding her with the two other dogs. Anything else I could try? At what point do I draw the line and give her away? I’m so lost and I don’t know why my feelings for her have changed and why she is becoming more frequently aggressive. Again sorry for the semi wrong group, if its that big of an issue I’ll delete this second post, but I really just need as much advice as I can get at this point.
