Do OBGYN’s prescribe fertility meds?

I will probably be seeing a new OBGYN (old one got too expensive) here soon bc I need to find out why my cycles are like 40 days long.. I feel like I’m probably not ovulating 😒 
But anyway I was wondering if my OBGYN could prescribe something like Clomid or something else IF that’s what I needed. Or if I’d have to go to some high dollar fertility place. 
Also if anyone has ANY tips on how to help ovulation and regulate my cycle PLEASE let me know!

They will probably do some blood tests to establish if you’re ovulating or not coz it could just be that you have longer cycles. Mine are typically around 40 days but I still ovulate 14 days before my period. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Typically, yes they can prescribe it.
My midwife and regular gynecologist (separate times due to changes in insurance made me switch doctors until I could switch back) both offered to prescribe me clomid or metformin for my PCOS.
