Is this normal?

So my last period was Jan 31st. I should be about 11 weeks pregnant. When I was at 8 it showed I was only measuring 5. Had another ultrasound yesterday. Still only 5. They are calling it a blighted ovum. My thing is I'm already "11" weeks.... no bleeding. Since finding out have had slight cramps here and there. How long should I wait before needing medicine to help end this or a d&c? How long can it take to even start to end?

I had the same thing. It’s called a missed miscarriage or a silent miscarriage, and your body doesn’t realize that you’ve miscarried. I was almost 12 weeks and measuring at 5, and my hcg levels were going down when they did bloodwork. It had been long enough that I chose a D&C because my body hadn’t actively done anything to expel it yet

I am so so very sorry you’re going through this. I had a missed miscarriage last year and the waiting was the worst part. It really just depends on you personally. I feel like I was very pressured to have a D&C, but I chose to miscarry naturally. I was about 10 weeks and my pregnancy stopped progressing at around 7 when I finally miscarried. 
I can’t remember the exact timeline...but about a week after I started to cramp, I started to have some brown spotting. My actual miscarriage happened in the span of about 6 hours approximately a week after that. I had labor-like contractions and passed very large clots and it was pretty intense for all those hours. I’m not going to lie to you, it was pretty hard to go through. Especially because I was told what I would experience would be like a heavy period...but ultimately, I’m glad for me personally that I went through it naturally. I did a lot of reading about it and I felt as though if I had the D&C I would have felt like it was too quick and wouldn’t have felt like I got to say goodbye. I know everyone is different though. I probably wouldn’t have been able to take waiting much longer though.
I feel as though my doctor was almost annoyed that I did it naturally and didn’t have the procedure...he almost seemed surprised that everything cleared out naturally. I switched doctors after all this because of this and other reasons...

Is this normal?
