Polyester allergy ? She can't be the only one
So my baby had been breaking out in a rash pretty well since day one. It took us 2 pediatricians and about 4m to figure put that our daughter not only had eczema like her mommy but she is allergic to polyester and sensitive to other synthetic fibers.
They said it's not uncommon and usually they grow out of it but now our daughter is just over a year old and it hasnt gotten any better. In fact it seems to have gotten more reactive.
Just a minute or two of contact with polyester and she breaks out anywhere it comes into contact.
Weve had to line every piece of furniture in big cotton blankets, replace everything she and we own (except my work uniforms) and keep extras in the closet by the door so if people come to visit we can make them change or pull over if they arent wearing cotton.
It dont seem to phase her much and she is such a very happy baby but seeing her itch and scratch and whimper in her sleep if she has a break out just makes my heart hurt and I remember how hellish it was for me as a kid and I dont want that for her.
Is there anyone out there who has gone through this? Any tips? Any Ray's of hope that she will outgrow it?
We have tried so many things.
Pics of my happy baby and of the rash that broke out after my mom held her for less than five minutes so we could move a dresser out to the curb.
