Sweets—-how are you handling them with your May baby? Originally I didn’t want her to have any sweets until her first birthday. Then I was eating a cupcake at Easter and talking to my mother in law, when this happened.

This was Teagan at 8 months old 🤷🏼‍♀️ She doesn’t get Oreos all the time (only two so far), she also gets a fig Newton cookie once in a while. Other than that it’s fruit or baby snacks for sweets.

By the time we started recording she had already gotten all the frosting off the 1/3 of cupcake I had left. She is a carrot enthusiast and this was a carrot cake cupcake, so maybe that had something to do with it haha

He has a couple bites if we have dessert like at a party. But he loves fruit like no other so his sugar intake is high from that. Usually when my husband and I have a sweet treat, it’s after our son has gone to bed and we’re watching tv.

We give some. Dessert is an incentive for our toddler to eat dinner so our baby sometimes gets a bite or two. With her teething I'll occasionally offer a popsicle too. We were so strict with her big sister and I don't think it really mattered. Baby eats a mostly healthy and varied diet so I don't feel bad giving her a little treat every now and then.

We do limited amounts. But we don't usually have a ton of sweets around to begin with. So she gets maybe a bite of cookie or a bite of ice cream once every week or two. Usually around holidays or parties
