My midwives automatically delay.  I had it in my birth plan with my second daughter also but they had to cut her cord in order for her to even finish being delivered.  It was tight around her neck three times and also looped around her arm a couple of times.  It made it too short for her to even be born.  So they had to cut it right after her shoulders were delivered.

Yeah absolutely. There are benefits and I've seen pretty much nothing showing a risk. Plus I don't think my husband is gonna be in the room during the delivery part (I'd rather him be outside the room than pass out and he'd definitely pass out) so it gives him time to get into the room and be centered for cutting the cord
