HSG test??

My OBGYN gave me an order for one today at the local hospital. What can I expect, is it painful? And what time of your cycle does it have to be scheduled?

I had one a couple of weeks ago, not sore, a bit uncomfortable, take ibuprofen before you go. I phoned to schedule mine on the first day of my period & they asked how long my period lasts & booked me in for after bleeding had stopped so was CD5 for me. Good luck! It’s such a quick procedure

Would love to hear your experience. I am booked into my doctor to ask for this to be done. I have heard so many ladies fall pregnant first cycle after having this done

Take ibuprofen like an hour before and relax your muscles when they do the procedure it’s like a pap not painful at all the ibuprofen is to help with the cramps a lot of people experience after...just feels like period cramps...the catheter only hurts if you’re super tense so do your best to stay calm

When you call they’ll tell you.. i think it was around cd8 maybe? I could be way off it was over a year ago. Mine didnt hurt, i psyched myself up and was SO anxious from reading horror stories on google. It was just like a pap, a second of cramping. Take motrin before. I spotted right after and for the next couple days. Otherwise, i left and went right back to the office to finish my work day!
