Just to vent

Erica

So this is not my first pregnancy, in fact it's my 6th. Even though I know some basic things to except from prior experiences, each pregnancy can be slightly or all together different.

I have been dilated at 4 cm for 2 weeks now, and having inconsistent contractions. But, this morning i decided to call the nurse just to see if i could take any pain reliever other than tylenol to help with my back pain. Well, the nurse looked at my chart and saw this was my 6th and I was 4 cm and asked me to come in just to be checked.

I came in and saw a different midwife. Well this lady made me feel like an idiot for even being there. They did a non stress test and my contractions weren't strong enough for her, and she even started to giggle, saying honey I think your paranoia is getting to you. Your contraction levels are only measuring to a 35. I even explained that i called the nurse for back pain and to ask what I could take, but she requested I come in. I then here her whispering about me to the nurse outside the door. Saying the membrane sweep that I received at my last appt should not have been done and clearly didnt work anyway and that I was probably paranoid because I have other kids at home and probably want to have child care set up.

I seriously just wanted to take the monitor off and leave. I get that some people think, oh she should know better of what heavy contractions are but I have been induced for going to almost 42 weeks with my first 3 kids so I never went into active labor on my own. My youngest two were induced at 39 weeks because I stalled out on progression on my own at 5 cm, but once my water broke I had a very quick labor.
