Lipase in Milk
My husband tried to give my son a bottle of my defrosted breastmilk today and he wouldn’t take it. I went back to work a few weeks ago so I know he typically has no problem taking bottles. I tasted the breastmilk after and it tasted soapy and a little metallic. He has drank my frozen breastmilk before with no problems. My question is, is it possible for breastmilk to develop excess lipase over time? Meaning sometimes frozen breastmilk will have excess lipase and sometimes it won’t.
