Gestational diabetes

So I was diagnosed just recently, but since tracking my numbers, I was beginning to become more encouraged. Due to the diet I was eating, my numbers looked really good. However, after meeting with a nutritionist as recommended by my midwife, I was told I should probably increase my carb intake to prevent spilling ketones (I was on a very low carb/sugar diet). Since then, it's been so hard to balance my carb intake and my glucose numbers. I had still stayed under the parameters (maybe not as well as I would have liked, but at least it was acceptable), until today. My fasting number this morning was 97 (which I think may be due to having skipped my bedtime snack--if you fast for too long, your body will release glucose and increase your number). So I figured, well bad start but I'll just make sure I have my bedtime snack from now on. My breakfast and lunch numbers were good, but my dinner number was really bad (144 at 2 hrs, should be under 120). I think I've narrowed down what it was that spiked my levels so high, but it's just really worrying me. I know I'm probably paranoid, but I wanted to get it off my chest and maybe find other monsbwuth similar struggles. What have you found that really shoots your levels up? What are some favorite foods that don't increase it too much? How long did it take you to find a good balance between too much and too little?
