Please tell me it gets better?

Question

I have a 3 week old and the repetition of her needs it’s driving me nuts. My husband is working full time while I am on leave. Will motherhood get better? I love my baby but at times it’s very hard. Just need some encouragement. One exhausted mama.

It gets better. ❤️ I remember feeling exactly like this. The newborn stage is really really hard. My husband worked FT too, and the days alone felt never ending. I also found bonding a struggle at first. The best advice I have is to say your a good momma that is taking care her baby, to let people (family/friends) help you, tell people how you feel, and call your dr if needed to talk about PPA or PPD. I ended up being diagnosed with postpartum anxiety, but it took me a while to reach out. It’s different for every baby but they eventually get into a routine and it gets easier.

100% I could have posted this. You’re sleep deprived and your hormones are wack, but you are NOT ALONE. Every momma went thru these exact feelings. My husband also was working full time and we had recently moved so we knew no one. Just me and my little bundle of screaming every day. It DOES get better. Just keep doing what you’re doing!

This is my cherub at around 5 months.

Yes it gets better! There were some nights I would get so worried I wouldn’t be able to get him to sleep and I’d pray that he would just sleep for a few hours because the sleep deprivation was killing me! But now he sleeps about 10 hours a night - yay!

The first month is a about survival. I remember days my husband would come home and I’d practically toss the baby to him and go take a long bath. Now he’s three and sometimes I still toss him to my husband. 😊 things will even out, each phase some things get easier, some things get harder but you’ll get through. As someone else said, talk to your doctor if something really doesn’t feel right. There’s no shame in that and it doesn’t make you a bad mother. Hang in there, you’re not alone.

I remember at the time HATING newborn stage. I pumped full time, it stressed me out so much. I hated having visitors because they were not helpful and just hogged my baby. Our doctor wanted our baby girl to eat every 2 hours so we had to wake her up at night. It took me a good 6 weeks to get the hang of it on my own(like all I did was take care of her I dont even know if I showered lol). She is now 12 months old and it really does get easier but each day has a new challenge. You will make it mama! The first months are the hardest and before you know it you will be missing them. I really miss when my little one was a tiny nugget napping in her swaddle. Even  though at the time I called her a monster when she wouldn't sleep at night 😂🤦‍♀️.

It get SO much better!!! I was petrified at having to keep a newborn alive and then realized that the repetitiveness was exhausting on its own. But my girl is now three months and already, it is so amazing to see her growing, supporting her head, smiling and becoming such an amazing little human! The newborn stage is rough because they feel so fragile and it’s eat, sleep, shit, repeat. Just hangin there, it’s gets better and much more enjoyable!

It does get better! It will go by faster than you realize and once your baby is older and more independent, you’ll barely remember these days.

I felt the same exact way! Felt so lonely and almost "used" in a way. I know that sounds bad because it's my child's needs but I just felt like my body wasn't my own anymore and it was a tough adjustment. It does definitely get easier though. We got very lucky with our baby girl. And I stopped breast feeding about a month a half in and it definitely helped ease my stress and allowed me to actually enjoy my baby and the moments with her. Hope this all makes sense? It's hard to explain if you haven't actually been there. It does get better though. I'm sure you hear that all of the time (and that even annoyed me to hear too) but people wouldn't be saying it if it wasn't the truth. ❤
