How often should you have sex in a relationship?

I’ve been dating a guy for over 6 months now. While we have been sexually active, we don’t have sex very often. It literally ranges from once to none at all. It’s mostly on me...I just don’t be feeling like having sex sometimes and he’s really understanding but I feel bad. I think I have low sex drive or something. How often should you have sex with your significant other?

Technically as often as you want. I just read in time magazines issue about marriage, an average of once a week is the go to for most happily married couples.

Well there's no rule, every couple is different. 
I like sex, so usually I like it 3 times a week, then maybe everyday one week, not at all another week because stuff came up or we just didn't feel like it. 
It varies from relationship to relationship and through the relationship. 
It's perfectly ok not to feel like having a lot of sex sometimes. You certainly don't have to have sex at all, even in a relationship, and you don't have to have any particular amount of sex. 
Some people are in relationships and don't have sex, as some people are asexual and don't want to have sex, but do want a romantic partner.
And some people lose interest or the ability to have sex at some point in their lives. 
There really can't be a rule or standard because everyone is so different and every situation is different. 
I have a high sex drive, and I really want a relationship with sex pretty regularly, I'm not looking to be with someone asexual, and I find that dating people who don't want sex almost ever is difficult for me to navigate, 
But i don't get into a relationship for sex or because of sex. I get into a relationship because I think I can love that person enough to be there through everything, including a lot of times where sex isn't on the table for awhile. Like they could get very sick or lose their sex drive. 
So yeh someone who gets into a relationship expecting to always have any certain amount of sex is not being realistic.

As often as you want. There is no normal amount a couple should be having sex. It’s completely up to you. Sounds like you have a really nice and respectful guy. No need to feel bad tho🙂 just be sure you’re both communicating about it and I’m sure you’ll be fine
